I was asked during an interview this week (that’s right, I get asked to give interviews on podcasts now…ooo la la!) what my previous clients would say to anyone thinking about calling me.
I think most people would say the same thing – call today, I wish I had called sooner! Don’t put it off!
It’s good advice, I think if you are on the precipice of calling for support it would be helpful and give you the confidence to take the step – but asking for support, reaching out for a helping hand, is something we all need to do in our own time.
(As much as we would like to sometimes, forcing “help” (our own or someone else’s) on another person often doesn’t work out very well. Either that person doesn’t seek help and we are annoyed that they haven’t followed our advice, or they do, but it doesn’t work so well for them because they are not in the right place.)
There’s often this moment when you hit a life changing realization – whatever it is – where for as moment you feel elated. After all – this has changed everything! It’s amazing!
Then you feel angry – it was so simple! Why didn’t I do this earlier? I lived with this the whole time, and it was so quick to resolve. You may have realized that someone else was involved in instilling the belief you were holding you are momentarily mad at them too. How dare they! But I suppose they are only human, and they probably got that belief from someone else, maybe they didn’t even know they had it or passed it on. After all, you didn’t know you had it until just now.
Then you feel sad – I lost all that time, the opportunities I missed because I had this thing holding me back, keeping me small and I could have just let it go.
Well, you can kick yourself about it if you really want to. Something else to beat yourself up about. After all, you just let go of one thing so there’s space for something new!
Or, you can decide to believe what I choose to believe. It was only so simple to let it go now, because this was the right moment.
You needed all the experiences up until this point in order to allow it to happen now.
And this process may take a few seconds, or a few minutes, or even a few days. I’ve found you get quicker at working through it the more often you do it.
So, just be thankful and enjoy your newfound freedom.
Anxiety affects everyone in different ways. Whether its general anxiety, phobias, addictions, habits, weight issues or anything else you do it your own way. So, it stands to reason that the solution should be as individual as you are. I use a range of techniques, such as Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy, Life Coaching, EFT, Reiki and many other tools I’ve picked up along the way to work with YOU to find the best fit. We can work online from the comfort of your own home, or you can arrange to come to my private therapy room near Carlisle, Cumbria.
