They say that change is as good as a rest, but is it?
I think in some ways it is.
For example, if I am bogged down in work, writing essays or blogs and feeling very uninspired, I do find that leaving the office and doing something else, even something very mundane, such as cleaning, can give me a boost and re-energise me to get back to it. Often, in that situation, it’s when I move away that creativity can flow and inspiration hits.
Giving your mind something different to think about and changing up your physical activity can have a big impact on how you feel and how well you perform (whatever that means for you.)
However, it’s not so helpful if you bounce from one thing to another without ever giving yourself time for actual rest.
I don’t know about you, but I also find that I feel stuck and become lethargic if I only get rest, and never have any change. Which is partly why lockdown has felt so draining, I think.
I guess the answer is, at least for me anyway, that we need change AND rest in order to thrive. It’s all about finding the right balance.
Anxiety affects everyone in different ways. Whether its general anxiety, phobias, addictions, habits, weight issues or anything else you do it your own way. So, it stands to reason that the solution should be as individual as you are. I use a range of techniques, such as Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy, Life Coaching, EFT, Reiki and many other tools I’ve picked up along the way to work with YOU to find the best fit. We can work online from the comfort of your own home, or you can arrange to come to my private therapy room near Carlisle, Cumbria.
