As this blog’s publishing day falls to be published on Halloween, I thought I would talk about something a little different from my norm. It’s not exactly spooky, but it’s probably as close as I’ve got (without going all out horror show!) Although I have written about past lives a few times, it’s not something I usually talk about and it’s not something I use regularly in therapeutic work (although, sometimes you end up there, you never know for sure what’s going to happen!).
Past, Future and in-between lives.
There’s many states that can be accessed through hypnosis – you can travel easily through time and space, while staying perfectly safe in your chair. Visiting past lives, and bringing back to mind the lessons and wisdom you gleaned in that life can be incredible. It can change how you perceive and approach challenges you are currently facing. Plus, it’s really interesting to see where you end up!
Future lives can be just as interesting. If you can travel to the past, why not to the future? If you close your eyes now I’m sure you could picture where you’ll be this time tomorrow, or next week, so why not further than that? Often future life progression stays within your current life time, often just jumping forward a few years to see where you are. This then allows you to look back from there to now and notice the steps you had to take to get there. Of course, the future isn’t decided yet – so maybe there are lots of different possibilities depending on the steps you take – but you can have a look at a few of them and go from there!
The time between lives is probably what I find the most interesting to explore. Where were you before you were born, and where do you return to when you die?
Why is it helpful?
Sometimes we get really stuck in the minutiae of day-to-day life, and we forget to look at the bigger picture. There is a lot of knowledge and wisdom that we have stored in us that sometimes takes a bit of a different key to access. Allowing flexibility in the rigid construct of time and space can be a great way to do that. It opens you up to possibilities you hadn’t considered.
Real or Imagined?
Do you really travel through time and space in your mind, or is it all a figment of your imagination? I honestly don’t know. I’d love to believe that our spirits are more enduring than our bodies and we’ve all been here before, but I just don’t know that.
However, if it is imagined, how wonderful is that?! You have within you all the resources and answers that you need, if you can just access them! Imagination is a wonderful thing – and we tend to forget to use it, or suppress it as adults, which is a crying shame.
Don’t go straight back to whatever you were doing before you started reading this just yet – allow yourself some time to consider what could be, what may be. Enjoy a bit of time exploring some imaginary rabbit holes of possibilities.
